The 2022 F-150 Raptor should be no different. Take the standard F-150, raise it up on 35s, give it big flared fenders, and add an aggressive grille with huge 'FORD' lettering, and you're most of the way there. The Raptor formula is pretty straightforward. Plus, a supercharged V-8 Raptor would help Ford answer the absurd, 702-hp Ram 1500 TRX with its Hellcat-sourced 6.2-liter supercharged V-8.

Ford's not going to launch a Raptor with fewer ponies than the one before. There's no word yet on power figures, but those numbers tend to move in one direction: up. Based on a leaked order document posted on the F-150 forum (via Autoblog), we expect the 'High Output' 3.5-liter EcoBoost to return as the standard engine in the Raptor, a hunch that seems to be confirmed by spy video of Raptor prototypes making V-6 sounds. That engine was available in lower-rung F-150 trims too, but in Raptor guise, it made 450 hp and a whopping 510 lb-ft of torque. The previous-generation Ford Raptor was powered by a 3.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V-6. Expect flared fenders, aggressive looks, and a high-riding stance. All those things are expected on the 2022 version, including the legally required amber marker lights that have become an iconic part of the Raptor's aggressive face. That means long-travel suspension, all-terrain tires, and high-output powertrains.
